ABOUT THE BOOK::

‘PETALS IN THE WIND’ the poet has tried to pen verses as a sequel to

her first book ‘ A PLETHORA OF POEMS’, although the contents are far more

matured and a drift from the NATURE-CENTRIC to more HUMAN-CENTRIC,

dealing with the various shades of human nature, thoughts and emotions. This

time too she has not hurried between her verses, but allowed each of them to

ponder and breathe before penning them on the page, allowing the readers to sit

back and feel the essence underlying each verse.

About the Author:

Mrs. Mili Mukherjee(Modak) born 25 th May, 1982 in Kolkata, completed her

schooling from ST. Thomas Girl’s School, Kolkata. She completed her Post-

Graduation in Economics from University of Calcutta. She started her career as a

GUEST-LECTURER in Economics in GOKHALE MEMORIAL GIRL’S COLLEGE, Kolkata.

Gradually, she joined a HIGH SECONDARY SCHOOL OF REPUTE, and is continuing

her service as an ASSISTANT TEACHER (ECONOMICS) in the same school for 20+

years.

She developed a flair for writing since childhood, inspired her teachers of school

days. She has written articles, poems, short stories for different magazines,

newspapers etc. Her first compilation of English poems titled ‘ A PLETHORA OF

POEMS’ was released earlier this year at the 49 th International Kolkata Book Fair

under Girban Publications. The Sunday Statesman, Vignettes, says , “Mili

Mukhopadhyay’s A Plethora of Poems reads like a quite tide that keeps

returning to the shores of memory, each wave carrying fragments of love, loss,

wonder and reckoning. There is something deeply unhurried about her voice, as

though each poem has been allowed to breathe before finding its place on the

page.”

deep-seated emotional content, in this second poem book of the author, titled ‘
